What is coaching?
The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaches honor the client as the expert in his or her life and work and believe every client is creative, resourceful and whole.
Most often people hire Coaches when they want to make positive changes in some aspect of their personal or professional life. Coaching creates a confidential, trusting, active and on-going relationship where people can grow and develop in ways they desire. Coaching recognizes that change is far easier and more successful when people feel heard, and unconditionally supported. A Coach listens, questions, and supports their clients in living their dreams – accomplishing things which may otherwise be out of reach if attempted alone.
Why do people hire coaches?
Life can be fast-moving and complicated. People get caught up in just getting through and can suddenly wake up to the realization that they are not feeling happy, satisfied, successful or fulfilled in some part of their personal or professional life. At times like these people may want and need help in overcoming the barriers that keep then stuck in a situation that is no longer what they want. And so, they turn to a professional who can help them clarify their vision and work to achieve the results which will help them create a more vibrant and fulfilling future.
Does coaching really work?
Coaching does work!
When someone lacks clarity or confidence on how to grow and develop working with a Coach provides a structure and a supportive, non-judgmental relationship where people can explore and accomplish more than they might working by themselves. They gain confidence in and clarity about who they are, what they value, and they engage in a process that aligns with their strengths to create lasting, positive change in their lives.
